Michelle & Jerome | Wedding

The first time I (Leah) met Michelle I knew her wedding would be so much fun, I just didn't know I would by lucky enough to be a part of it. She was bright, happy, energetic, full of life................ and she was 11. You see, several years ago I used to work on a summer camp every year that Michelle and her best friend Jess would attend. They were a lively pair, the youngest at camp, always together and loved nothing more than to stand in the front row and dance up a storm (something they were both brilliant at).

As life went on and camp became a memory for us all we were eventually able to reconnect through Facebook and when Michelle and Jerome became engaged they were sweet to think of us and ask us to capture their wedding. Normally Jonathan does wedding photography solo, but I could not pass up the opportunity to see this girl I have known for so long stand before God with Jerome as they made promises to love each other forever, so I joined Jonathan as a second shooter. Even as we drove to capture them getting ready I must admit I cried with happiness because I was just so full of joy for them.

With their wedding came an abundance of rain, however Michelle & Jerome were determined not to let it ruin their day. They were passionate about having a good time in spite of what the weather threw at them and the spirit with which they entered their day was inspiring. They love each other, they are going to be husband and wife and you could tell that to them, that was all that mattered.

They had a big bridal party full of wonderful friends, including Michelle's best friend Jess who almost made me cry again when she gave her speech and talked about the fact that they had known each other since they were 2, which made this year their 20th anniversary as friends. Whilst they were surrounded by great friends I have to admit that my favourite part of their day was any moment when I got to see the two of them alone. The way Jerome would look at Michelle or gently kiss her shoulder, the way they would laugh together or just hold each other for a brief moment as the craziness of the day whirled around them.

Thank you for letting us share your day Michelle & Jerome. We loved hanging out with you (yes, even in the rain) because we got to see just how blessed the two of you are to have each other. You are made for each other. We know you are apart right now due to circumstances out of your control, but we hope that seeing a few of our favourite images from your wedding day will help to lessen the distance between you until you are back in each others arms again.

Much love to you both... J&L xx
